Commercial Description:
Copper colored with a clean finish, this Extra Special Bitter (ESB) has it all; a fruity, malty flavor and a subtle lingering bitterness. If you like dry, hoppy beers this one is for you. Mahogany Ale - one taste and you’re hooked.

Bottle. Aroma of weak malts. Flavor weak sweet malts with spicy hops. Pretty bland for me.

Bottle shared by fredandboboflo. Pours a deep amber with a thick tan head. Aroma of light sweet malt, flowery hops. Flavor of sweet malt, mild flowery hops, some apple, wheat cracker. Blandish but decent. ESB? I thought this was more like an amber. Ok though, 2nd best Farmington River beer.

Bottle: It pours with a reddish-orange hue and a thin head. The aroma is fruity, almost like grape juice. The beer drinks with a unique malty tone -- fruity, but also earthy and woodsy, with an almost mapley aspect and a sweet grapey pull. The finish is incredibly dry with a hoppy little pinch. Although this beer doesn’t present any overt greatness, the sum of its parts make it quite the delicious brew. This would pair well with just about any American fare -- I’m craving a big juicy burger! (#3220, 11/25/2007)
