3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Jblauvs (1265) - Dover, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 24, 2011
Straw pour with no head. Aroma is sweeter apple with some floral aromatics, a bit of earthiness. Mouth feel is a bit thin, no carb. Not a huge fan of the still ciders, a little effervescence can go a long way. Flavor is apple, a bit of earthy funk, some good acid at the finish. Ok, but again, not a fan of still ciders.

750mL Bottle from 2008 poured at CiderDays 2010. Tannic, tart, and a touch biting. Aromatic, fruit-forward. Crisp and together. I think I appreciated this more when it had carbonation. It’s still very succinct, just less elegant.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Leighton (4100) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - NOV 5, 2009
Bottle. Pours a pale golden hue. Aroma of fresh apples. Flavor is bittersweet. Earthy, yes, with nice apple notes abounding. The finish is crisp with just a bit of tartness. The apple flavor is highly detectable in the aftertaste. The stillness and almost undetectable alcohol make this cider seem almost juice-like. Quite good.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Goldorak (439) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 1, 2009
I’ve had this in the cellar since about 2006. Lovely golden yellow. Interesting catty aroma, but without going all acidic and farmhouse-lambic. I’ve tasted a few dry white wines that had these aromas. Light body and dry, crisp finish with just a bit of alcohol that lingers on the tongue. Light acidity gives it some interesting depth and complexity. Great stuff!
