COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sparkling, clear, golden. Blended for potent fruit and acid, subdued tannins, somehow it offers a surprising and delightful suggestion of whisky sours with nothing like the alcoholic penalty. Alcohol content 7.5% by volume. 750 ml. bottle, mushroom cork closure (no corkscrew needed). Nice to get fun and information in the same bottle, yes? The fun is in the flavor, a little sweeter and more accessible than our regular styles, with keen acid and tons of fruit, plus a clean, food-enhancing finish. The information, familiar all over the cider-drinking world but generally forgotten here in the States, is that traditional fermented ciders make ideal hot-weather companions. Don't chill Summer Cider (or any FH bottle) very far down, you'll lose contact with its fullest flavor.

Bright, light yellow. Fresh, fruity and altogether clean aroma. Quite tart, with notes of apple skin and tannin. Bright on the palate with more apple complexity than the Semi-Dry. Very tart finish - fresh & fruity character is quenching indeed.

UPDATED: APR 12, 2007 Pale straw colour, spritzy carbonation, quite clean and appley in the nose. Light malic acid, a touch of dustiness and some alcohol all make an appearance. Flavour is pretty well-balanced. Very dry on the finish with some light apple skin tannic character. Tart and slightly leathery, both of which intensify as the cider warms a bit. A bit less refined than the semi-dry cider, but it’s still quite good.

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. Pours with a really light head that fades and a clear golden body. Some legs, surprisingly. Aroma of cork, apple and light horse. Taste is dry and delicate apples with light acidity. Nicely balanced and easy to drink. Medium carb and dry finish (as it should). Very nice.

Bottle @ home. Filtered, clear, golden orange appearance with no head. Slightly toasty, apple pulpy, mildly dry, vinous aroma. Lightly sour, sweet, toasty apple flavor with a mild to moderately finish. Slightly vinous. Kind of a weird toasty flavor.

On tap at Rattle n Hum. Pours a clear straw yellow with a medium sized white head that vanishes almost immediately. Dry apple, little bit of champagne yeast, somewhat sweet fruit. Thin, somewhat watery. Little bit of a dry hay note, rather empty overall. Dried out a bit too much.

From a 750 ml bottle. A dark straw body with just traces of white head at the edges of the glass. The aroma is fairly sweet, yet at the same time vinous. Little hints of dandelions and fresh apples make this pleasant. The mouthfeel is relatively dry at first, but then this finishes sweet. There are notes of the tart apples with some woody hints, especially in the finish. There is a bright floral character thoughout. Lightly carbonated, this is a good thirst quencher for hot weather.

( 750ml bottle thanks to bu11zeye) Pours effervescent yellow. Nose of wet wood, apple, funk. Taste is lightly tart apples, and it’s very well carbonated and drinkable.
