What a wonderful looking pour. Volumes of tan to brown sea foam as a head. Just noticed that there maybe a recipe change as it is now listed as 3.8% verses all my other sources (including RB) indicating 3.4%. I proceed. A very thick dark brown verses black in color. Has a sweet grain to near wort-like aroma. Hints of herbal hops. Smooth on the palate, that nearly makes it boring. Sweet malt flavors with just a hint of the lactose in the linger. Very drinkable and on the verge of - again being boring.

Bottle sample at Union Beer Trade Tasting, NYC. Woo hoo, a new country! Deep ruby-brown with a small, dark tan head that leaves some nice lacing. Aroma is odd - slightly herbal and candyish with some sour tinges. Flavour of a creamy chocolate malted, with some mild roasted/nutty notes in the finish. Pretty decent stuff.

Bottle (GBBF 2006): Liquorice with very sweet lollies. Very sugary with a milky feel. Black with a short tan head. I really don’t like lacto stouts.

Bottled. GBBF. A black coloured beer with a slightly frothy coffee head. The aroma is like red candy licquorice: very sweet and attempting to be grown up. The taste is very sweet and lactic. More red licquorice. Although the beer is a bit dumbed down and over sweet, it is quite satisfying and nice enough to drink

Bottle at GBBF 2006. Black with thin dark beige head. Odd aroma with some sourness, some milkyness, some sweetness, odd dark malts. Some choc. Odd, but quite nice.

Bottle. Black with a beige head. Aromas are sweet coffee with lactose. Also has mollasses and cream. Has earthy sweet roast root vegetable notes. Flavours are sweet and sugary roast malts with chocolate and powdered milk. Has some berry fruit with sweet, sticky mollasses. Quite dry on the finish. Extremely tasty for its strength.

A black coloured beer with a pale brown head. A sweet roasted aroma. A sweet taste with a very small sence of bitterness. How can a beer with such a bad aroma taste so good. (Bottle 28.5cl 3.8 alcohol% in my version and a half year past its expiry date)

Thanks Jacky and Nicole for bringing me this nice beer from Malta. Black-brown color with brown fluffy head. Good aroma’s of burned coffee, nuts, wood and lactose. taste is smooth and on the sweet side. It has hits of black chacolate, strong coffee with sugar and milk, and some roasted bitterness in the end.

Light looking stout with a fluffy head. The aroma is slightly milky but quitie alcoholic, and the flavour is lightly hopped and milky. Overall a reasonable milk stout.
