Bottle. Pours black with brown head. Nose/taste of dried grains, powdered milk and toasted chocolate malt. Light body. More like a dark lager than a stout.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2013 Sampled @ home shared with Martinus. Opaque pitch black color, virtually no head. Smell and taste malts, sweet malts, slightly some bitterness, some caramel. Could be worse.

Bottle. Black with a beige head. Aromas are sweet coffee with lactose. Also has mollasses and cream. Has earthy sweet roast root vegetable notes. Flavours are sweet and sugary roast malts with chocolate and powdered milk. Has some berry fruit with sweet, sticky mollasses. Quite dry on the finish. Extremely tasty for its strength.

I loved this stuff! Bottle marked 3.8%. Pours pretty thick, with a rocky, light brown head covering a deep mahogonay body. Pretty good lacing left by the head. Aroma of milk, malt, skunk, grass, bread, and caramel. taste is smooth and really a lot like a thick milk or whipping cream taste at the finish. A bit dry on the mouth throughout, but nice levels of carbonation. Lots of flavor for such a low ABV, a great little beer that is vastly underated.

Bottle @ Winking Lizard in Cleveland. Black body, small foamy brown head. Strange muddle aroma, lactose, sweet malt. Sweet flavour of malt, lactose, and obvious caramel. Average palate seems to have added body from the lactose. Meh, not awful but I would not rush to have a second one.

Bottle. Smoked cheddar cheese aroma. Dark black-brown color with small film of a head. Cream cheese/unsweetened yogurt and toasted bread flavor. Fairly light body. An interesting unique beer for number 1500.

11.2 oz brown bottle. It pours a deep blackish brown with a thick and creamy tan head that recedes with a bit of nice lacing. The smell is interesting, a bit of permanent marker, chocolate, and sugar. The flavor is light and sweet, there is a lot of metallic flavor, mostly milky milk chocolate, it is a bit buttery. It is okay, easy to pound and get over with. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 08-12-2010 03:26:01

Bottle, GBBF, August 2006. Black, with a sparse light brown head. Moderately roasty aroma. Soft chocolate flavour with some sort of fruit extract thing going on. Not as sweet as I expected. Rather fizzy mouthfeel. Somehow reminded me of Tizer. Interesting but not entirely to my taste. I had this noted down as 3.4%.

Bottled, 3.8%. Poured a clear, deep garnet with a moderate cap of caramel head.. left some lacing behind. Milky, lightly-roasted sweetness in the aroma.. really, really sweet. Flavor was of milky, chalky, lightly-roasted chocolate and molasses sweetness... the sweet factor really piled on as this warmed up. Lighter-bodied. Not bad, but not one I could drink much of.

Pours an opaque black with dark brown edges and a thin, wispy coating of tan head. Sweet sugary aroma has some toasty milk chocolate notes and noble hoppiness. Body starts with some sweet molasses and unfermented sugars along with some fizzy carbonation toward a slightly more bitter and drier finish. An interesting brew, but too one-sided.
