boFNjackson (598), Portland, USA May 5, 2008 Bottle... Poured black with a brown head. Aroma of liquor and malt. Smooth with low carbonation. Flavors of milk chocolate and roasted malt. Aftertaste reminded me of coffee liquor.
douglas88 (939), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Nov 15, 2008 Bottle from College Liquors in Grand Junction, CO. Pours a pure black color with a medium brown head. The aroma is sweet malts, some light and odd notes also, something like caramel. The flavor was interesting; chocolates, some caramel, milky-sweet and rich flavors, something akin to glue also. Kinda odd, but decent. KAggie97 (2024), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bottle.
Pours a beautiful onyx with a healthy head of olive-green. Aroma is subdued lemongrass (weird, huh?) with sugar. Reminds me of lemongrass tea that an ex-girlfriend’s mom used to make. Flavor is a thin line of molasses, with hints of Brach’s caramel candy. Average mouthfeel. This beer just doesn’t seem to ’’work.’’ carruthm (465), Seattle, Washington, USA Oct 21, 2008 V - dark pure black pour with small head, working only up to one finger size on swirl, Tannish in color with a thick appearance. Traces of carbonation on the side of the glass.
A - creamy chocolate aroma, but rather mild. Obvious dairy elements.
T - light roasted malt initial taste that evaporates into a frothy watered down chocolate milk like flavor.
P - fleeting body and a bubbliness that hides the flavor. Rciesla (1136), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Oct 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a tan head. Lightly roasted and then sweet milky stout, some caramel and dark fruit. eh just didnt come together well. rederic (1507), montréal, Quebec, Canada Oct 3, 2008 Bottle, pitch black color, with a tan-colored head, but falls quickly, and leaving belgian lacing, light roasty, caramelized malt nose, with a semi-sweet chocolate accent, with some faint fruity raisiny notes, with a kind of multi-grain bready dough, a faint milky aroma follows through on a light-bodied palate with a smooth, sweet toasted, caramel character, with a hint of dark chocolate, and a milkyish chocolate milk accent, with a subtle coffee bean roastiness, and hint of fruity dried raisins, leading towards a sweet malty, caramel, yoghurty finish.
