2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20 Acetobacter (816) - USA - NOV 23, 2009
Experienced from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. Given the extremely low alcohol content, and the fact that Farson’s Milk Stout was named one of the world’s 500 best beers by Michael Jackson, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The beer pours a very light yellow color, just about right on "straw-colored." The aroma is fairly similar to ginger ale, with some moderate notes of lemons and artificially sweetened lemonade. At the same time, what would seem like an unpleasant mixture of notes is not all that bad. The palate begins decently, showing slight notes of ginger ale, lemon, and low- to medium-crystal malt character, as well as a bit of hop bitterness. The melange isn’t bad, except for a wave of artificial tasting residual sweetness that appears toward the back end of the palate, and lingers in the finish. This ruins what otherwise could be a relatively crisp thirst-quencher, and renders the beer close to being undrinkable. Overall, an interesting idea and effort, but poorly designed and executed.

No words about the head. It tastes sweet, citrus, limonade. For a mix beer maybe ok. -/7/6/7/10/7

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 vyvvy (2920) - Florissant, Missouri, USA - JUL 14, 2009
Pours clear golden with a soapy white head. The aroma has ginger ale qualities with lots of ginger. Medium soft body with lots of semi-soft carbonation. the flavor starts with light malt, ginger with minimal bite and a mellow creaminess. The finish is sharper with the ginger and some mushiness and too much syrupy sweetness. Decent, but you’d be better off picking up a non-alcoholic well crafted ginger ale.
1.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 DSG (3006) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - JUN 6, 2009
Fizzy yellow-golden color with a small white head. Aroma of limes and grainy notes. Really sweet flavor with grainy maltiness, artificial sweetener, and a cheap lemon-lime soda. Light-bodied. Pretty bad.
1.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 BigBeer45 (973) - Michigan, USA - APR 27, 2009
Pours a very clear pale straw and gold with a white head, mild effervescence that keeps a thin cover on top,
has a nice head for a lemon beer and left some lacing on the glass, aromas of lemon, lemon skin oil, lemon and sugar sweetness that reminds me of Lemon Ice, and very faint malt in the background, flavor of lemon and sugar sweetness, I could not taste any malt, has a lemon tartness with very little bitterness, sweetness is a little much for me, if this was less sweet I would have enjoyed it more and it would have served as a better thirst quencher. No off fragrances or flavors but has a bit too much sweetness on the palate to fully enjoy.
