3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Into the glass pours a dark amber-colored beer that is losing its head quickly. Smells strong roasted malt. Starts also very roasted malt, subtle alcoholic with a strong licorice undertone. The aftertaste is roasty, bitter coffee and decent alcoholic. The further course is a little nutty, but always remains strong roasted malt!

(draught) pours a clear amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of caramel and tree bark, light toasted malts and fallen leaves, quite spicy and autumnal. flavour is the same, quite heavy on the malts, with some robust notes of alcohol and some light hints of peaches and herbal hops in the finish. medium to heavy body with average carbonation.

Bottle. Clear bronze with a small head.Slightly sweet with a presence that is quite deceptive.Only when I looked at the bottle did I realise how powerful it was.No carbonation and dangerously drinkable

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 50cl. Bottle from Bierzwerg.de. Clear dark amber with a small beige head. Terribly inviting nose where odd cardamom and lemongrass, caramel, candied coconut, apricot and spicy hop components show up, all very nicely balanced by a flawless malt back. Low carbonation. Great balance. Very drinkable with a good bitterness. Beautiful lacework. Dry finish. A sublime beer.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
500ml bottle (One Pint, Helsinki, Oktoberfest 2008)
Rich orange, no head. Not much aroma; sweet malts I guess. Quite an alcoholic kick, but a big malty body. A touch of mustard. Overall, not too boozy, but definitely strong. Pretty estery - I would say this falls easily into the European Strong Lager category, rather than Doppelbock. Finish is quite hoppy.
