(Bue à la brasserie): Une charpente fragile et mielleuse soutient la paille humide et les houblons herbacés. Buvabilité haute avec sa finale sèche et son amertume assumée.

On tap at the Fässla. Pours a bright gold amber color. Aromas fruit, floral, and malt. Flavor is malty, with a fine hop taste. Hop finish and aftertaste.

At the brewery. Clear gold color. Nice aroma, gras, malty. Nice crisp taste, grass, pils malt. Clean finish, nice noble hops. Nice and fresh. This is why you need to do these beers right in Bavaria, not when they’ve been imported.

no smokiness. I thought this was bamberg. soft estery, flowery nose.soft cracker and bread malt with a firm hop bitterness. Clean, dry finish. very light.

Bottled 50cl. Keeping it short. The best pils in the side-by-side tasting. Very pleasant.

On draught at Fässla. Full-on fresh hop aroma, so peppery and spicy that it must be Saaz, but also lightly floral and perfumed. Light-medium golden yellow color with a white, creamy head. Flavor is primarily a hop fest, bitter, spicy and dry, lending a welcomely refreshing effect. Finish features a burst of hop flavor and bitterness. Body is light-medium. Very nicely done Pils, quenching and flavorful.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Clear gold. Filmy, white head. Sweet, honeyed grain. Some grassy hop. Taste is light dry, and light bitter. Finishes fairly bitter. Dry close.

bartlebier (2670) - Belchium im Biersgau, GERMANY - JAN 21, 2013
draught at the Brewery + 50cl bottles - Very decent Pilsener, especially drom draught. Fresh grassy/strawy hops, citrus and honey aromas in a malt-forward center, lingering bitterness, light-medium palate. Great thirst quencher and go-to option @Fässla (rather than their Helles). Some more dusty/cardboard malt qualities and slight alcoholic notes in the bottle version.

Ahh, beautiful Bamberg in the summer sun. Has a bustling country town feel about it. Quick to drink this town is, it seems we woke later than the patrons of Fässla who were already bending elbows with this stuff in the early morning, a time I usually reserve for coffee and crumpet, maybe some pumpernickel. The first night of our stay here Deutschland won a group qualifier in the World Cup so Fässla Bräu simply roared for around 18 hours more, no sleep that night, this was the poison.
Vom fass into its own tall glass. Bright sunny gold body, light, fine streams of carbonation rose to a lovely, fluffy, snow-white head that held on and daubed long legs of froth down the glass. Obscenely clean nose of fresh cracked pepper, leafy herbs and grass, and just a touch of dry, summery grains underneath. Dry, raspy and grassy hops in the mouth add a zing to the slightly sour malt tones in the back. Layers of dry, gritty malts upfront and across the mid-palate. Good, firm bitter bite on the swallow, peaks and drops off with notes of eucalypt and bay leaves, and some more sour malt and hops. Very fresh tasting, the body is light, almost delicate, and it bounces ever so hastily across the palate. So clean and precise. I liked this, it suited the brewpub. A no-nonsense, anytime of day quaffer that made for a good night, with the inclusion of the raucous, lovable locals. A simple Pils, but a good one!!!
