3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Indra (2476) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - NOV 1, 2004
On draught at Fässla. Sweet, lightly toasty, malty aroma, accented nicely by a dosage of spicy, fresh hoppiness. Medium copper color, clear, with a spectacular, lasting, off-white head and equally impressive lacing. Flavor is sweet, vague notes of caramel and honey drift by, but possesses plenty of hop character as well, leafy and faintly peppery, and the beer remains in balance for the vast majority of its flavor development. Aftertaste is particularly balanced between malt and hop. Carbonation is light, the body is light-medium. A tiny bit thin perhaps, but a good beer overall.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 bierkoning (8953) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - SEP 27, 2004
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2006 Bottle, amber color. Low on aroma. Orange flavor with a hint of cherry, blackcurrant and a hint of oak. Hopbitter aftertaste. Medium bodied. Clean and tasty, but I somehow expected better. (5 3 7 4 13 = 3.2). The tap version at the brewpub IS better. Malty flavor with a whiff of smoke at first, followed by a hint of butter in the aftertaste. Delicious!

Tap, at the brewery. Deep gold, moderate white head and gentle condition. Sweet gentle malt aromas, pleasant grainy malt with a hint of biscuit in the mouth and a developing sweetness in the finish.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ernest (5610) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 19, 2004
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2011 Bottle.
Head is mostly diminishing.
Body is light amber.
Aroma is moderately malty (toasted bread, cookie, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs, flowers), with light notes of honey and orange zest.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Decent. The main problem is the grainy malt character.

Delicious maltiness, a bit doughlike, fruity components too. Everything underlined with nice hops.
Dark red amber, nice creamy head.
Fruit, hops and funky malts and a delicious bitterhop finish plus.
Nice body, refreshing slightly fizzy mouthfeel.
Yum, I liked this one obviously.
