Bottle. Very sweet malt aroma - almost like a cola. Dark brown opaque color. A very unique Weizen flavor - apple, pear, mild sweetness, maybe a hint of the typical banana- highly carbonated but I can’t detect any hops in this at all. This is a very unique dunkel Weizen - smooth and without the typical ’dunkel’ flavor. I really liked this one - have to give it top ratings for its individuality.

Dark brown coloured, brown lasting head. Aroma of malts and fruit. Very smooth dunkelweizen flavour, a bit like a bock actually. Great mouthfeel. Very nice beer.

Bottle, Fässla Bräu, Bamberg, Germany.
Unfortunately this didn’t excite me like the Weizen Hell. That’s not to say this wasn’t a delicious brew, just lacked that spark that gets me all tingly inside - like the Hell did.
Into a Weissbier glass. Deep, dark, hazy chestnut, body - tinged by ruby - with intermittent, light carbonation only raising a thin, dense pad of cream that lasted but left minimal legs. Unusual for a Weiss bier which is usually exorbitantly charged with bubbles. Vinous, tart fruit and crushed chocolate biscuits in the aroma with only a little banana and clove peaking through. Unusually smooth on the palate, very lightly carbonated and a little frothy on the tip of the tongue. Biscuity, tight, malty flavours and hints of chocolate covered bananas, plastic and bready yeast blend nicely. A touch of smoke shows here and there. Quite dry in back, phenolic with a touch of tangy wheat malt and mudcake in the swallow and lingering long in the mouth. Becomes more biscuity as it warms and gets quite sweet, but it’s otherwise pleasing to drink. Quite nice, but I thinks it just a little too shy of the paler brother. Still, it is yet another great beer from Fässla.

Aroma of banana, yeast and caramel malt. Hazy, brown coloured with a lasting, off-white head. taste is sweet, yeasty, malty, a bit citric and has wheat (banana) in it. Quite refreshing brew.

Hazy brown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of banana, roasted malt, some chocolate. Taste of toffee, sweet, some banana. Good dunkelweizen.
