500ml bottle from Ealing BF 2007. Russet colour with disappearing off white head. Some smokey toffee aroma, bit of rubber. Smokey rubber mid dark beer. Less smokey than Schlenkerla marzen, but smooth, more toffeeish, better mouthfeel. Smoke on finish is good. Very good smooth, deep marzen.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bright copper with a moderate, even foam. Relatively weak aroma is a bit toasty, grainy. Slightly watery, minor diacetyl, and light toastiness. Finishes kind of quick. It’s thin, but there’s enough dark malt complexity to make is passable.
