Had this on a train ride along the rhine, I was in the zone. It was delicious. Nice rich and sweet with plenty of malt and a leveling of hops.

pivnizub (9425) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - OCT 12, 2005
Bottle (Vroni’s Bamberg): Amber to brown coloured, thin lacing head; sweetish malty nose, a touch of coffee and roasted malts, some fruitiness; soft texture, mild dry malty taste; also mild malty and only very shy bitter (chocolatey) finish; rather light bodied for a brew of 6% ABV. Well quaffable, though.....

500ml bottle at Plan B, shared with larsga, OleR and Gr0ve. Golden-brown body. Rapidly declining white head. Dry aroma of dark malts. Caramel, almond and dusty hops to the flavour. Ends very smooth and dry. Clean in the mouth. Nice dunkel (Copenhagen, 28.05.2011).

MoritzF (8776) - looking for a flat around Munich, GERMANY - AUG 4, 2006
(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a small creamy off-white layer. Slightly sweet and toasted malt aroma with hints of alcohol. Light sweet flavour, toast-malty, slightly bready, crusty taste with a tinge of vegetables; medium to light bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel; bittersweet slim finish. Pretty drinkable but not to be overrated.

Bottled - Bedford Beer Festival. Bit of a soapy aroma to this dark brown coloured beer The taste is quite malty and nutty. Dry but quenching. A very good beer.

500 ml bottle. From Bamberg, Germany. Clear dark copper colour with tiny off-white head. Dark malty aroma with some caramel and tea. Grainy malty flavour with hoppy aftertaste. Quite interesting.

bottle, thanks to pivnizub! Clear chestnut colour, off-white head. Malty base with some nuts, also hints of caramel and dried fruit.

clear dark chestnut brown body with a patchy, large-bubbled tan head. sweetened roasted chestnuts in the nose, sticky almond, toasted cereal grains... excellent aroma. up front there’s a bit of cola resemblance, but more nuts, caramel, baked bread, dried stone fruit and sweet tobacco to make up for it. body is good but not great - no strong structure, no sharp crispness, but it’s still sound and drinkable.

MartinT (8619) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 24, 2006
UPDATED: MAY 27, 2006 Impressions from the schwemm:
-Frothy foam and clear reddish-brown hues adopt an icea tea look after but a few minutes.
-Like their Pils, this has an aqueous, überclean feel, which is ridiculously drinkable.
-Toffee and roastiness present simple ideas to the flavor spectrum.
-Charred meats subtly suggest depth in the nose.
-Flaky roasted malt bitterness rises in the back.
-The tiny bubbling and lean body are too slippery for my tastes.
-Everything’s so timid and watery, this is ultimately boring and appears to be brewed for the masses.

From the bottle at the brewery.
