A pleasingly plump lass, this oatmeal stout is a little hoppier than most, with a hefty and full-bodied oatmeal flavor. Brewed with wheat, oats and a whole lot of hops, this is Fat Bottom’s uniquely American version of the Irish standards with a little extra junk in the trunk. She’s not too sweet, light on her feet, and she’ll have you dancing a jig after a few happy pints.

Nashville, Tn. Fat Bottom Brewery - on tap.Pours a jet black with a light tan colored head. Solid aroma of roasted coffee and fresh, rich moist dirt. Good bitter roasted notes with a rich malty undertone. Solid earthy flavor, Quite nice. Mouthfeel is kind of dry, they way I like it in a stout.

Somewhere between a 2 and 4oz pour at SAVOR 2015’s Saturday night session. Poured a hazy dark, almost pitch black color with a small light brown head. Aroma was roasted malts, notes of chocolate, oats. Flavor was roasted, chocolate. Pretty tasty. Sessionable.

Lighter than I expected, lighter than Left Hand’s or Samuel Smith’s. More like a dark lager. Smooth, I will give it that, but I wanted more.

Pours a dark, thick black. sadly disappointing. Watery and tasteless. Bland and plain.
