Sampled at the brewery. It poured a brown color with a tan head. The aroma was of roasted malts and resiny hops. The taste was similar to the aroma with more roasted malts, some coffee a touch of perfume and some hoppiness. Good stuff.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap. Pours deep red mahogany, medium creamy tan head, huge staying power, great lacing. Aroma is roasty, a hint of chicory, pine, astray, touch of rubber. Flavor follows, light plus sweet and bitter, more roasty than IPA. Bitterness without flavor character, which is a bummer. Medium body, great mouthfeel.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pint on tap. Opaque with a lasting creamy film on top. Nose is mild mocha with a hint of citrus zest. Tastes of semi-sweet chocolate, grapefruit, resiny herb, caramel and some coffee on the finish. Almost seems like some wheat in there too. Medium body has medium-high carbonation and an intriguing balance.
