1.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 Lagerboy (420) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 31, 2011
Clear dark amber with a big foamy tan head. Strong roasty caramel alcohol nose. Roasted malts give way to a thin murkiness... this brew is muddled and confused. Thin bitter finish.
NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

On tap - pours black with a thin had. Aroma is malts and honey. Flavour is a dry caramel, medium malt, and a smokiness. Nothing special here.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 MrRoss (646) - Delta, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 16, 2009
Poured with a foamy, tan head and a dark brown/amber colour; Coke or Pepsi, anyone? The aroma was tiny with maybe a hint of coffee but nothing else. Taste was inoffensive and unremarkable, perhaps a suggestion of malt and a smidgen of coffee but really that’s all. This was like a toned-down version of Fat Cat’s porter and that is a far better beer. Too bad about the silly label and the too-cute brewer’s description of this one.
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 tiggmtl (4475) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 9, 2009
Dark malts blend with marzipan-like sweetness in the nose. Clear brown body is topped by a low tan head that recedes to a light cover. Flavour blends nutty malts with some darker malt character. Caramel and marzipan in the aftertaste. Medium body is quite dry with somewhat low carbonation leaving the body feeling quite sticky. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle purchased at Brewery Creek in Apr-09.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 fiulijn (10421) - Como, ITALY - OCT 16, 2008
Hazy red mahogany color. Strange aroma, roasted malt, nuts, maybe smokey, dirty water, surly confusing. Dryish mouthfeel, dry caramel flavor, chocolate and light roasted malt. Not for me.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ughsmash (5836) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 11, 2008
Bomber, BB 7/08, thanks to Mark! Poured medium orange with a short cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up brown sugar, cocoa powder, and iced tea in the malt department with mild earthy accents.. just the mildest roast around. The flavor had caramel and cocoa at the soft core with earth and a touch of pine bitterness around.. tacky finish fell off quite quickly from the palate. Light-medium bodied without much carbonation.. muddled feel overall (smooth at times and inexplicably sticky at others). Not too much good going on for it.

Dark brown, moderate brown head. Cocoa and grassy hop aroma. Cocoa and clay, caramel and mildly bitter hops in the finish. Pretty light mouthfeel. Not bad.

Pours a deep, dark amber-brown with a small head with poor retention. Wonderful spicy aroma, like a brown ale. Tastes pretty pedestrian - confused homebrew (reminds me of my first dismal effort). Hopping is good - nice and fresh. Malt is syrupy with moderate spice, this would be a passable brown ale - cheap chocolate extract aftertaste redeemed by fresh hopping. Body is moderately carbonated and slightly creamy. This doesn’t really fit any style, but drinkable.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 blankboy (4454) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 27, 2007
Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & GregClow -- my bottle courtesy of CapFlu. Pours a cloudy dark orange-copper with an average size diminishing beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, grain, some chocolate and hops -- not great, smells weird. Flavour of Cream Ale with some faint roasted malt, faint chocolate and some sourness -- too much like a Cream Ale and not enough like a Porter. Average bodied. Why do they bottle this, who’s asking for something like this?
