2nd December 2008. Clear dark brown beer. Lovely rich malt with rich red wine and port tones. A semi dry finish with more rich malt and a little toffee. Nice!

Bottle conditioned takeout from The Fat Cat, Norwich. Red-edged mahogany with a slim beige lid. Nose standard English BC apple yeastiness and cooked plastic joined by black cherry, cinder toffee, liquorice, roast barley, alcohol, background leafy hop. Some sulphur with the bits in. Not so much old ale as a bit of a skewed BC stout. Flavour pleasantly mellow with ash, chocolate and liquorice. Some acidity and alcohol but no really pronounced aged character. Nice dusty cocoa finish with faint apple and raisin; clinging burnt toast bitterness for dessert. Solid, but expected more.

Gravity cask at Pigs Ear 2008. Smoke, fruit, on the sweet side. Ashy finish.

A Mes rate. Gravicask at Pigs Ear. Rich ruby brown coloured with a thin tan head. Nice light spice, fruity malt and a lick of caramel. Excellent liquorice notes in the finish. Good stuff.
