Oakes (7032), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Sep 11, 2006 Dull, lightlly hazy amber colour. Lightly earthy, mushroomy, crackerlike note in the aroma. Quite thin, with light earthy notes and hints of caramel. The honeydew used to make this is very complex, great stuff, but I’m not sure enough of this gets through the fermentation process. tiggmtl (4178), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 5, 2006 Fat Cat Honey Beer: Bready malt aroma with a light musty honey character that is pleasant. Clear golden blonde body is topped by a low white head that recedes to partial cover. Lightly musty and floral undertone to the sweet and bready flavour though all in all, sweetness dominates and there’s not a lot of offsetting bitterness. Strong carbonation to the light medium body with a bit of a slick texture. Pint glass. Fridge temperature. Bottle (BB is marked December and ’3’ but I know this just came out, BCLS at 8th and Cambie, Oct-06). jcwattsrugger (4087), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Oct 17, 2007 22oz bottle-pours a big foamy to creamy off white head and gold color. Aroma is honey, grain/malt-caramel. Taste is sweet/herbal-flat malt, secondary flat hops. Similar to many of the gluten frees I’ve had. OK effervescence. Lubiere (3409), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Nov 4, 2006 A golden ale with a thin white head. Light malt aroma with light rubbery notes. In mouth, a dry malt with light residual honey and a an oily mouthfeel, and crisp hops bitterness. More like a malt liquor. Trade with Capflu. HogTownHarry (3361), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Sep 4, 2007 Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy, biegaman and viggo - blankboy’s bottle. Clear pale gold, frothy/creamy white head. Odd aroma - honey and grass, seems a bit sharp, but I was the only one smelling that. Smooth, honey-grain, fair bit of grassy hops. Light body, some astringency, mild carbonation, grainy linger - pretty decent, I didn’t love it as much as the other guys.
