Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’09. Chestnut with white head. Thin and a little on the sweet side, but certainly smooth and chocolatey malty. A sessionable mild that gains a silky tone. Not bad.

Cask handpull, The Fat Cat, Norwich. Can’t see the ruby for lace. Beautiful, highly kilned smoky mild packed with condition and cocoa, vinous fruit, earth and milky coffee back-up. Fine sweaty hop presence both in the aroma and flavour. Hopped up to the nines for style, but still unmistakably a mild. Totally hits the spot.

Cask Conditioned at the Wenlock Arms, 30/1/08. Dark brown with reddish tones and no head. Chocolate aroma and flavour with some supporting fruitiness. Light mouth feel. Good.

Cask handpull at Fat Cat, Norwich. Dark ruby, disappearing beige head. Decent choc and damosn aroma, not a lot of condition, very good choc and blackberry/sweetish black cherry flavour in mouth. Smooth choc finish. Fine and the choc/fruit is good

Half pint pulled at the Fat Cat in Norwich, light brown with no head. The aroma is light and malty. Strong chocolate flavours with some cherry fruit. Quite tangy with a light mouthfeel.
