dchmela (775), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 8, 2008 22oz bottle courtesy Presario. Pours a deep reddish brown with a thick tan head. Aroma is sweet malt, pungent bubble gum, sharp oak 9is this what buffalo trace tastes like?) just a really odd mix of flavor. Taste is much more barley wine with thick malty with a touch of hops, but more of the sweet fruity, bubblegum thing is still there. Too much sweetness.
PhillyBeer2112 (1861), Orange Park, Florida, USA Oct 9, 2008 Updated: Oct 10, 2008Courtesy SoLan. 2007 bottle. Amber color. Thin layer of head. Aroma is strongly bready with deep darp fruits and a little peppery alcohol. Flavor has sweet alcohol and a little papery sherry-like oxidation but its nce. Semi-dry finish. Pretty big, almost minty lingering spice. mullet2007 (125), Newfoundland, Canada Jun 15, 2008 Found this written on a piece of paper from last summer when I was between computers. Bottle thanks to presario. Pours deep red to brown, with a big tan head which lasts pretty well and leaves nice lacing. Smells very fruity with some bananas and bubblegum? Flavour is sweet with some hops, raisiny finish. Reasonably thick with decent carbonation. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Jun 14, 2008 22oz bottle I brought to Mels YEHA-pours a tan head and gold/amber color. Aroma is fruity, medium malt, vanilla. Taste is fruity, medium malt, vanilla, Belgian yeast. OK/mild carbonation. Trev (541), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Feb 27, 2008 Bottle:
Pours a dark amber colour with a thin head.
Malty cookie aroma, buttery alc, and licorice.
Flavour has a sharp sourness with the herbal licorice tones and oakey alc. carrying through. Syrupy-ness keeps deeper flavours from coming up for me.
The herbal-licorice combined with the oakey tones meant that I was not so much ’down with this beer...’
