Large, lasting off-white head covers the sedimented black body. Hugely spicy up front, very peppery, herbal and lots of spices in general. Not necessarily poorly done, but not a super pleasant drink. Very low carbonation, lightly oxidized, light body. Those spices leave a certain film in mouth.. spice astringency?

Bottle at LCRBM3. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find anything else more about this beer. I may have to phone the brewery. Black beer with lasting beige head. Spicy heathery aroma. Little bit over carbonated in mouth. Bit of liquorice, overly spicy maybe. Still it’s got some good English yeast and it made a change to the taste buds.

A Mes rate: Bottle at LCRBM3. Black colour with a slight tan head. Very spicy aroma with some chocolate malt. Pretty much identical flavour with some extra coffee thrown in. Some nice stuff underneath but its all to dominated by the spice.

3rd LCRBM. Aroma has chocolate, some fruit and ginger. Black coloured with a thin off-white head. Small particles floating around. Sweet malty and bitter taste with some coffee and spices. Actually a nice brew.

bierkoning (8109) - La Tropica, NETHERLANDS - SEP 10, 2007
3rd LCRBM. Very spicy aroma and flavor (cardemon?, ginger?, there should also be others...) Just a bit malty sweet. Too spicy to be really enjoyable.

Bottle@LCRBM. Too much beef spices in the aroma. Murky, dark brown color, beige head, good lace. Spices and coffee flavor finishing with some licorice. Not try but too me the combination is too strange.

Near black; small, but resistant greige head. Bog myrtle, cedar, rosemary, very spicy nose; very unusual for a British stout. A bit of liquorice in the more usual category. Again, dry-spicy flavours with rosemary, lavender, ginger. In the end, a spike of alcohol. Very special brew, completely off-setting. Harrisoni, thanks, but could you fill in some details?
