COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular. Also available bottle conditioned.
An attractively-coloured deep, dark beer. The characteristic sweet, rich flavour of roast malt and molasses is well balanced with the pronounced hop flavour and aroma of classic English Pilgrim hops.

Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Dark brown, small off-white head. Faint malt aroma. Slightly sour taste with some cocoa, but on the watery side for a stout. More of a mild really. Quite liked it.

500ml bottle, drunk on 2 December 2011. Best before 01 Feb 2014. Not the darkest stout - dark reddish brown rather than black. Chocolate dominates the aroma and flavour. Quite soft mouthfeel and a little thin for a stout. Pleasant drinking but could use a bit more weight.

BC takeout from The Fat cat, Norwich. Very deep clear ruby with slim beige collar. Aroma ash, sun-baked bin liner full of apples and leaves, background roast, sulphur and chocolate. Creamy and pleasantly smoky with milky mocha, a gentle kick of bittering hop, a scattering of ash, earth and a bit of plastic. Tasty, but not the pick of the Fat Cat beers.
