Tap at Fat Headís PDX. A: Mahogany body, creme head, and some lacing. N: Chocolate, vanilla, some char, coffee, and caramel. T: Very sweet and a bit charred. M: Creamy, medium body, no alcohol, soft carbonation. O: A dessert in a glass. Iíve had some chocolately Baltic Porters, and this one is tops.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate chocolate, caramel, roasted malt, toffee, and a hint of coffee. Itís a dark brown with a good amount of orange transparency. It has a small beige head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate chocolate, caramel, and a hint of molasses. The finish has light am keeping with a touch of roast and coffee. Itís medium bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel.

From growler, pours opaque black with no head. Apparently I lost carbonation in the hydro flask. Nose roasted malt, light chocolate and dark fruit. Taste coffee, some dark fruit and hint of dark chocolate. Moderate bitterness late palate. Iím sure this was better fresh and may revisit it in the future.

On tap at the original Fat Headís, this is a very drinkable Baltic Porter that hides its alcohol well. Flavors of smooth malts and dark fruit. Aromatic. Very good.

Draft @ Fatheads. Deep brown in color with a medium tan head that vanished quickly. Aroma and flavor runs hand and hand. Milk chocolate, ash, weak traces of bitter coffee and an herbal type flavor I can put my finger on. Medium body but leans on the thin side. Mouthfeel was a tad watery. Moderate carbonation. I donít know about this brew. Something just seemed a bit off, nothing major because I couldnít pin down what I didnít like about it. Maybe I need a return trip to Ohio to try it again, LOL.

Close to a black ipa. Chocolate aroma but very floral as well. Flavor very similar. Smooth and very tasty.
