On tap at Fat Heads Portland - Pour dark brown with a white head. The aroma has roasty malt, smoothness, chocolate and caramel. It has a medium smooth body with soft carbonation. The flavor has caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted malt and some nuttiness. The finish is nutty and has some earthy hops. This was okay. Seemed as much of a brown ale as it did a schwartzbier.

Aroma: Very faint hints of nutty malts. Appearance: Dark brown with rich, tan head. Taste: Light sweetness with hints of sourness at edges. Palate: Light body, slick texture, soft carbonation, soft finish. Overall: Not disappointing, but a bit too sweet and light for my finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tap, from ratings backlog. Pours clear deep red hazel, medium tan head, dissipates quickly, good lacing. Aroma is roast, grain. Flavor is medium sweet, little bitterness, molasses notes. Medium body, high carbonation. Not really a lot going on here. Unfortunate.

A small, clear, dark amber to light brown beer with a small, light beige head. The aroma has roasted malts and some dark chocolate, with toffee and a touch of dried fruits. The flavor is a bit sweet, with roasted malts and some dark dried fruits. Medium body, pleasant carbonation level. Some bitterness in the mostly roasted finish. Not very true to style this one, but at least it tastes quite nice and itís not flawed. 140118
