2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Sampled on draft at the House of 1000 beers this beer poured a caramel color with a medium sized beige head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweetish caramel, faint wood, nut and a touch of pepper. The flavor was bitter, dryish and crisp with notes nut, caramel and basic lager. Medium length basic lager and caramel finish. Medium body. Eh.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep amber color out of the tap with a really creamy beige head. Light sweet grain nose. Thin with a lot of water, brown sugar, sweetened tea with something oddly metallic in the finish. Good enough to accompany my sandwich.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft to imperial pint. Looks good; a transparent reddish-brown with ample light-beige head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells bitter, malty, doughy, and a little spunky (but not in a bad way). Tastes like it smells with some sweetness tied in. Average on the palate; fairly light like an Oktoberfest lager should be. A solid example of the style.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reddish gold pour with big puffy head. Hallertau hops, slightly musty aroma. Caramel, dark bread, chewy lighter carbonation, good mouthfeel. Wouldnt mind having this when the leaves are changing colour.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
on Tap at Fat Heads CLE on 2/4/2012, Pour is a nice darker looking Marzen, taste is malty and smooth, easy to drink but my palate is not refined enough to appreciate the subtle nuances of the style, I would enjoy this beer on a hot day though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft… Clear amber lager with a small, fizzy, white head. The nose is a malty mélange of toffee, caramel and tropical blossoms honey. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation. The flavor is malty, toasty and caramely. Fairly crisp, bittersweet finish.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours golden from draft with a thin white head. Not much on the nose. Clean crisp taste with lots of carbonation. Clean finisher. Solid example of style although it’s always very difficult to articulate what separates various Marzens.
