Traditional German styled wheat beer served unfiltered. Hazy straw colored beer that hints at banana and clove complexity as all Hefe Weizens do. This thirst quencher drinks so easy it may fog your goggles. 18 IBU

On tap at Mad Mex in Pittsburgh. Pours slightly hazy with small white head. Little thin lacing, light carbonation, and hop aroma. Taste is citrus, spicy hops. This is a wheat ale and not a hefeweizen.

Draft to pint at Dutch’s. Lookd good; yellowish-orange and hazy like a hefeweizen should. Smells of banana and clove; spicy. Tastes spicy up front with a sweet banana finish. Odd. Doesn’t really have that hefeweizen zip on the palate though. Okay.

This poured a ridiculously cloudy yellow to orange color with a white head. Nose was straight banana. some bubblegum and clove too. Flavor was much the same, just great blend of yeast, bubblegum, lots of banana and some spices. Great Great hefe.

Poured on draft. Appearance is a hazy straw color with a fluffy white head of foam. Aroma is loaded with bananas, cloves, cardamom, and freshly baked wheat bread. Banana nut bread comes to mind. Taste is initially sweet, but the traditional faint tartness makes a nice appearance in the finish. Pretty good.

On tap. Hazy yellow color, with a big thick foamy head, leaving plenty lace. Nice light carbonation, very smooth texture, dry finish. Nice banana aroma, zest and a subdued sweetness. Solid hefe. Between this and their pilsner, I’m definitely a new fan of Fat Heads.

on Tap at Fat Heads CLE on 2/4/12, Bubblegum and Banana dominate this for me, but surprisingly it doesnt offend me, its easy to swig and nothing too potent about it.. cool.

Pours cloudy lemon from draft with some notes of banana on the nose. Nice clove on the tongue. Finish clean. Decent example of the style.

Aroma: Light banana. Appearance: Cloudy gold with thin head. Taste: Medium sweetness with light sourness. Palate: Medium body, average carbonation, creamy texture with decent finish. Overall: It’s decent, tasty, well balanced, but not overwhelming.

On tap at the Cleveland brewpub. Not bad,but also not that drinkable, 18 ibu. Lacey. Average mouthfeel, though expect more from the style. Carbonation and temperature is correct. Easy drinker for some, not hat interesting forme. Aroma a bit strange for style.
