Traditional German styled wheat beer served unfiltered. Hazy straw colored beer that hints at banana and clove complexity as all Hefe Weizens do. This thirst quencher drinks so easy it may fog your goggles.

On tap at Fat Headís Portland, pours a clear yellow with a small white head. Nose brings out banana and clove, like a typical hef. Flavour isnít terribly authentic but it has the typical overripe banana notes, some clove and a little citrus. Drinks pretty well, though not a huge fan of the style. Okay.

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2010 Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a hazy yellow color with a thin white head that disappears quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of wheat and bananas. Light body with flavors of sweet spices, wheat and bananas. Some bubblegum notes as well. The finish is clean and fruity with a wheaty aftertaste. Slightly above average overall.

On tap at the Cleveland brewpub. Not bad,but also not that drinkable, 18 ibu. Lacey. Average mouthfeel, though expect more from the style. Carbonation and temperature is correct. Easy drinker for some, not hat interesting forme. Aroma a bit strange for style.

[2/23/15] Draught at Fat Headís in Portland. Cloudy grayish yellow. Pleasant banana and bubblegum aroma with clove notes. Sweetish flavor with banana, bubblegum, citrus, a bit of graininess, and some phenolic spiciness, especially towards the finish. Medium-bodied. Decent.

On tap. Hazy yellow color, with a big thick foamy head, leaving plenty lace. Nice light carbonation, very smooth texture, dry finish. Nice banana aroma, zest and a subdued sweetness. Solid hefe. Between this and their pilsner, Iím definitely a new fan of Fat Heads.

Draft at Cincy Beerfest 2014 on Fountain Square. Pours a hazed orange-gold with a finger of frothy off-white head. Notes of banana, clove, wheat, caramel, and some sweet and dried fruits. Medium-bodied, with medium soft carbonation and a sweet, wheaty mouthfeel. Right on the money. Very nice American take on a hefe.
