4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Thanks to Eric aka spoolinvw for giving me a fresh bottle of Head Hunter. I have always had terrible luck trying to find fresh bottles of this one, glad to finally try the real deal.
A - Pours clear golden orange with a nice one finger tall white head leaving light lace down parts of the glass.
S - Smells of pungent citric hops, grass, tropical fruits - mostly grapefruit and oranges - pine resin and only the faintest hint of caramel sweetness. This one has once intense nose to it.
T - Starts off with a ton of bright citric hop bitterness mixed with some juicy grapefruit tartness slowly giving way to hints of pine resin, grass and some mild caramel sweetness. Finish is fairly bitter, lingering on the palate for quite awhile after the finish.
M - Medium body with moderate carbonation. Smooth, oily feel with a ton of bitterness from start to finish.
O - This is one awesome IPA. I could drink a few of these no problem. When fresh this is definitely one of the better IPAís on the market today.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Been wanting to try this one for years. Glad it finally found its way my way. Orange pour with a white head. The aroma has some very nice tropical fruit notes as well as some biscuit malt. The flavor is similar. There is a great bit of pineapple and resin, as well as some biscuit. Medium bitterness. Everything about this IPA goes perfectly, making it an exceptional drinker. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at brewery in Portland. Copper with small white head. Super piney citrus pine nose. Dry and very hoppy. Pine. One note but really true to that note. All in on tasty strong hop. If youíre looking for a straightforward aggressive true ipa , this is a good one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at taphouse in Portland. Appearance: finger white head, clear, golden color, ok lacing. Aroma: light citrus, pine, caramel. Palate: medium body, average carbonation, bitter finish, sticky texture, dry finish. Taste: sweet caramel into a light thinness for a split second, on into full pine bitterness with light orange rind notes. Overall, very smooth, bitterness lingers a bit, but not overly. Very nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to Mark! Bottle is just over 5 months old so not particularly fresh. Pours a clear light amber color with a tan head. The smell is pine and citrus, some sweet fruit as well. The taste is piney and bitter initially then following that is some dry, crisp citrus with the ending being dry, and somewhat bitter. Medium - in body with about average carbonation with some prickle. My finding is that a 5 month old Head Hunter is OK but not great.

Finishes with lots of piney resin, bitter grass, ripe citrus fruits. Not bad overall.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to Colin. It pours golden-amber with a medium white head. The nose is fresh, big juicy action, passion fruit, mango, fruit cocktail and candied peel. The taste is crisp, smooth bitterness, minerals, sherbet, pine needles, touch of alcohol, zesty citrus, mild caramel and a touch of toasty grass with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Drinks mighty easy. Nice stuff.
