Aroma: Strong chocolate aroma with a backbone of coffee, dried cherries and hints of malt. Appearance: Black with a rich tan head. Taste: Medium sweetness with hints of bitterness at the very edges for some depth and balance. Palate: Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, long sweet finish. Overall: Itís a bit sweeter than I like, but itís still a solid, well-developed beer with a lot going on. Iím certainly not disappointed.

From a growler. Pours a normal RIS jet black color, with a thick, light tan head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, dark fruits, and bready dough. Taste is sweet chocolate, and coffee. Somewhat thin for a stout. Overall, not too bad. Would purchase again.

Sample at Daily Growler. Pours brownish-black with a medium thin light brown head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate and coffee. Full-bodied with a roasty character and flavors of chocolate malt, coffee and subtle hops. The finish is rich with a burnt malt aftertaste. Good beer all around.
