Once upon a frozen evening way up north, a sweet local honey named Holly inspired our Jolly Fat Man (as only Holly can) to create this festive spiced holiday ale. We think you will enjoy his holiday creation with itís aromas and flavors of Christmas day. Sweet malt, ginger, honey and cinnamon spice. Sip this by the fire with your significant other. Who knows, maybe it will lead to a little inspiration of your own. From our Jolly Fat Man to yours, Happy Holidays.

Draft. Poured clear dark ruby color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy spice sweet aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy balanced spice flavor with a medium to heavy sweet spice finish of moderate to long duration. Solid seasonal beer that exceeded my expectations.

Half a bottle in the Shades of Green parking garage after shattering a 6-pack on the concrete. Lots of tasty spice like a good ginger snap. Great cold weather warmer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On Tap at Melt Columbus, last Christmas. Delayed review. Holly Jolly pours a medium bright copper beer. Nose is Christmas spice (cloves, ginger, and cinnamon) with a moderate amount of roasted caramelization from the hops. The taste is more of the same. Spices lead with a nice amount of roasted cereals and brown sugar. Body is light but with some carbonation. Overall, an above average, but rather run of the mill winter beer.

12 oz. bottle from ryanmcfly1985- thanks again, Ryan! Nice trade bonus. Pours a mostly clear brownish amber with a small beige head that leaves a lasting ring. Spices lead the way, and ginger is foremost among them, followed by cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg, with some backing but weaker sweet and caramel malts, pine, and a shot of honey. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a thin, spicy mouthfeel. This was tried about four to five months after it came out, and it definitely seemed out of balance in a way that suggested age. That wasnít intentional; I meant to drink it sooner. Now I know.

bottle @ Jungle Jimís / Eastgate OH --- Clear amber brown color, heavy beige head, streaks of lace. Taste is malt that is infused with Christmas spices The whole concoction moves without change to a carbonation edged finish. An interesting brew, but not one I would want very often.

Solid holiday spiced ale with a bunch of spices on a medium sweet brown ale malt body. Certainly easy to drink for the "style" and ABV. Ginger and cinnamon definitely prominent.

Bottle. Dark ruby/amber. Sweet ginger spice aroma with honey. The taste follows exactly with cinnamon, apple, and cherry notes. Good stuff. The aroma really stands out but, the mouthfeel is a bit too thin. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Fat Headís Portland, pours a clear dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is huge on the spices, especially cinnamon and nutmeg. Flavour is the same, with not too much else going on here. Very spice-dominated. Good for what it is, but itís not my cup of tea (or beer).

Draft. Aroma and taste basically your standard winter beer. Sweeter than I prefer. Cloves, cinnamon, sugar and spice predominate
