FAT HEAD’S HOP JUJU IMPERIAL IPA Bordering on the supernatural, Hop Juju is the perfect name for this beer as the magical hops cast their spell with intense, dank aromas of pine and citrus and big, aggressive, bitter flavors of pine, grapefruit and orange. Nicely balanced by a very sturdy malt backbone. and a hint of alcohol 8.7% ABV. 100 IBU

Massive, tongue assaulting DIPA. Super hop forward with dank citrus and pine. No attempt to cloy the booziness with detracting malt sweetness which leaves the flavor of the hop unembellished.

Tap @ The Bistro’s 2010 10th Annual Double IPA Festival. A yellow color wit ha white head. An amazing aroma with a citrus. The flavor did not match the aroma.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Medium to heavy sour citrus and earthy hop aroma. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy smooth bitte flavor with a medium to heavy bitter finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Big bold hop scents and flavors, has some nice toffee and roast.

On draft at Fat Heads Pittsburgh. Poured a hazy copper with thin off white head. Sweet, piney nose. Flavor of a bitter pine tree with grapefruit undertones. Tongue stripping. A tad boozy. Medium bodied. A little disappointed in this one.

Sampled at GABF. Big IPA with pine and lots of aroma and flavor. Grapefruit. Great stuff.

Draft to snifter at Dutch’s. Looks good; a West Coast transparent burnt-orange with off-white head. Smells good too; bitterly hoppy. Tastes like it smells, but not as intense. Good on the palate. Good, but I prefer Head Hunter.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2012 Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark copper-amber color with a huge foamy orange-tan head that lingered and left great lacing. The aroma was strong sweet pine, resin and grapefruit. The flavor was very bitter with an intense pink grapefruit presence that explodes on the tongue followed by tangy sweet pine, resin and lemon and a bit of bread underneath. Very long grapefruit and tangy pine finish. Full bodied. Excellent.
