COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
FAT HEAD’S HOP JUJU IMPERIAL IPA Bordering on the supernatural, Hop Juju is the perfect name for this beer as the magical hops cast their spell with intense, dank aromas of pine and citrus and big, aggressive, bitter flavors of pine, grapefruit and orange. Nicely balanced by a very sturdy malt backbone. and a hint of alcohol 8.7% ABV. 100 IBU

Growler; thanks Alex!! Clear orange with foamy thin white head; garlic, oranges and sticky hops; get some mashed potatoes too b/c of the garlic; lots of fruit with medium body and nothing too harsh here with the bitterness; tropical fruits with mild garlic and vanilla cookies; mild sticky pine in the finish; get more of the vegi and garlic mix in the nose as opposed to the flavors; pretty nice overall and drinkable

Tap at Fat Heads. Clear light gold pour with a spotty white head. Big pine and citrus nose. Medium palate but slick. Taste is yummy - bright pine and citrus hops that are well balanced. Excellent beer.

on Tap for IPA Fest 2011, really good IIPA, not my favorite of the fest but still a top 3 for me, Slight alcohol which is to be expected, but I wouldnt call this one balanced, its very hop forward which is nice, a good west coast style made in the midwest.

Sample at the Columbus Winter Beerfest on 01/14/2012: This beer is a clear orange color with a medium white head that burns away steadily. Short strings of lacing. Piney hops, citrus and malt in the nose. Medium body with a moderately bitter hops flavor that has grapefruit and pine notes. Sweet malt in the background. The finish is hoppy with a citrus aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draft at GABF. Pours an orangey color with a nice sticky head. The nose is alright, big orange zest notes with some caramel sweetness coming through, fading into pine notes. Okay nose. On tasting, the orangey notes carry over but seem almost candied. If it didn’t have the bitterness it does, it would be cloying. Too much sweetness/caramel for my liking. Not my type of IIPA.

On tap at GABF 2011. Pours a clear bright orange color with a medium white head. A fresh nose of bitter oranges, some hemp and robust citrus. The flavor is very good; sweet resin, oranges- huge citrus here-, some lingering bitterness. Light biscuit. Damn good.

Damn a Fat Heads IPA never fails. This one is a light caramel orange, beige cover. Aroma is hugely pungent citrus, some light pine, toast, candy, caramel. Taste is nice maltiness, then a wash of floral, citrus, light pine hops, some toast in the finish, nice bitter but not harsh at all.

A really good IPA. A nice hoppy aroma and flavor. A really great bitterness. Had this one at Three Floyd’s as a guest tab and it holds up to many of the Three Floyd’s IPAs.

This poured a darker clear orange color with an off white head. Huge aroma of tropical fruits and dank pine. Flavor was much the same as the aroma, lots of fresh citrsu and pine flavor, followed by a somewhat sweet grainy finish. Great example of the style. Fat Heads IPAs are just great all around.
