A full bodied Imperial Red Ale brewed with a massive amount of Pacific Northwest hops that are complemented by caramel malts. Dry hopped and hop-backed with Simcoe hops give this beer itís pungent piney aroma.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber/copper color ale with a nice foamy head. Aroma of citrusy and piney hops with nice floral undertones. Taste is a nice mix of citrusy and piney hops notes with limited bitterness and some nice floral undertones with limited residual sugar notes. Body is full with good carbonation. Another super enjoyable hoppy ale from this brewer.

Bottle shared by Tom - thanks! Hazy deeper red / crimson pour with a moderate head. Very sweet caramel. Rich. Pine hop with some citrus as well. Very good.

Poured from a bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a thin off white head. Light carbonation and plenty of lacing. Big juicy citrus aroma with some pine resin. Full bodied juicy taste with a full mouth feel. Finishes with some light malts and a little bitterness with an alcohol warmth. Kinda like Hop JuJu with a maltier flavor. Nice balance with interesting lasting flavors.

12 ounce bottle
Your typical Fat Heads fare sets the bar high and then manages to slightly exceed it. Bigger bolder red ales might be available but if you want good value look no further. Just be sure to track down some fresh bottles so you get the most impact - this is not a cellaring beer.

Aroma / Appearance - The chestnut reddish body radiates warmth beneath a strong creamy white head. Oak forests in the late summer meld with red vines, dried leaves from the previous season, and bitter iced tea. The overall impression lingers like a morning dew before slowly burning off.

Flavor / Palate - The texture of chewy chocolate dipped caramel chews coats the mouth with an oaky foundation. Following on its heels, the dried tea leaves and pine resin give it a strong backwoods appeal. The silky smooth finish drops off a payload of fresh hops and red vines soaked in warm tea. Once again Matt Cole has hit it out of the park.

Sampled at GABF 2016. In the tasting glass this was a dark red with a white head that had some pink tinges. Nose is very rich malts with dark ripe fruit, and some sugar aromas. Full body. Flavor is rich and the fruit mixes perfectly with pine and citrus hops that leads to a bittersweet finish. Simply a luxurious beer that would be perfect on a cold winter night. This may have been my favorite beer of the many hundreds I sampled this year at GABF.

Bottle. Poured a deep amber color, mild haze, and tiny bubble tan head. Aroma wasnít strong, but caramel, bread, and pine came out. Flavor was really good and Iím not usually a fan of the style. I got a caramel, cinnamon, apple dessert type taste. Call me crazy, but I did. Also had notes of pine, bread, and sugars. Full body and a creamy texture. Soft carbonation and a mild hit of alcohol to finish. Pretty good.

Bottle from Mustard Seed. Pours a deep reddish color with a quickly fading head and aromas that are making the damn fruit fly here go nuts. Lots of caramel and brown sugar, some figs and a hint of passionfruit. Flavor is heavy with brown sugar, caramel and pine. Lots of booze seeping through and warming the throat on this one.
