A full bodied Imperial Red Ale brewed with a massive amount of Pacific Northwest hops that are complemented by caramel malts. Dry hopped and hop-backed with Simcoe hops give this beer itís pungent piney aroma. 2014 World Beer Cup Silver Medal

Sample at Galloís Tap Room. Slightly hazy copper-amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to a film. Partial rings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, hops and citrus. Medium to full body with flavors of fruity hops, caramel malt and pine. The finish is malty up front with a resiny hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Tap. Hazy red orange, small off white head, great lacing. Aroma is Simcoe, grapefruit and pine with a bit of dank. Flavor is dank and tasty, bit of grapefruit, spruce, cat piss, light caramel behind. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel. This is good shit.

10oz on tap at Cock & Bull in Hyde Park for $5.50. Mostly clear red slight red orange color. Thin off-white head. Leaves good, thicker lace. Good tropical fruity, kind of spicy light piney hop aroma. Light caramel, spicy malt. Moderate to bigger bitter taste. Light sweet. Very light note of the alcohol, works well to propel the flavor long into the finish. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of creamy crisp lighter carbonation. Light slick finish. Very good, assertive flavorful hoppy red IPA.

Draft to taster. Looks good for the style; a mostly transparent amberish orange with foamy off-white head. Smells of fruity hops with a mildly bittersweet backbone. Tastes like it smells with a nice smooth mouthfeel thatís fuller-bodied but not sticky or cloying. Good stuff!

Cooper pour with creamy white head and lace. Aroma is resiny hops with caramel malk kicker. Large malt forward with a nice citrus/resiny bitter. Very sweet malt and nice warmth. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Very nice

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2014 Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a brown-orange color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left decent lacing. The aroma was tangy and sweet catbox, pine, resin, orange and caramel. The flavor was tangy and sweet pine, resin, catbox, orange, caramel and hot peppers. Long tangy and sweet catbox and pine finish. Moderately full bodied. Well made but not really my style.

On tap at Mad Mex Robinson. Meh. After a few sips I started gulping so I could finish it quicker. Aroma was OK. Slightly malty with burnt caramel and earth. Pour was a dirty murky brown with a one finger off white head. Taste was just not very good. The rye flavor with the hops clashed too much for my tastes and just didnít go well together. Wasnít undrinkable but didnít enjoy very much....especially since my go-to beer when Iím there is their Headhunter IPA

Hazy copper color. Fairly bitter hop profile. Some decent malt character in the background but hops predominate.
