4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Look - Brown with red tint or red with brown tint. No head with weak pour. No lacing. Relatively see through. Stone head if there was head.
Smell - Sweet. Cherry. Ginger. Malt.
Taste - Follows nose well. Plus Bubblegum. Plus Apple. Plus cinnamon. Belgian.
Feel - Medium. I canít believe there is so much alcohol. Dries up.
Overall - This is the lighter version of my namesake Mad Elf. I couldnít get it in December, so Christmas in July! I like it.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft. Poured clear dark copper color with an average frothy off-white head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Complex heavy spicy sweet aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy dark fruit sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration with a warming alcohol burn. Good brew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at MadTree listed as being over 10%. Pours a slightly hazy caramel brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have roasted malts, Belgian candi sugar, caramel, dark fruits, spices, if this batch was over 10% the abv remains well hidden. I liked that the spices werenít out of control.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Fat Headís Portland, pours a deep dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toffee notes and dried dark fruits. Flavour brings out sweet toffee, dark fruits and caramel. Sweeter than the Sorceror, and thus not quite as drinkable, but still good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled on draft at 3R6P this beer poured a dark brown color with a medium sized creamy beige head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet molasses, cherry and raisin. The flavor was sweet and tangy with a strong raisin presence, molasses, cherry, a yeasty undertone and a boozy element that complimented rather than detracted. Long finish of raisin, booze, cherry and yest. Full bodied. Tasty.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Snifter on tap at Cock & Bull. Brown - red color. Good foamy khaki head, with good retention. Cinnamon and fruit cake nose. Decent lace. Dark fruit, belgian candi sugar, some spice. Bigger body, lighter carbonation, smooth texture. Sweeter taste, light bitter. ABV is hidden well. Decent Belgian strong ale, but I kind of expected more from Fat Headís. As far as a winter seasonal goes, I much preferred Fat Headís Holly Jolly. This doesnít quite have the taste to back up the price and ABV (labeled on the menu as 10.5%)
