UPDATED: JUN 30, 2010 Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a clear dark reddish-amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Malty aroma with mild hops behind it. Medium body with flavors of roasted malt, hops and caramel. The finish is malty with a short and sweet aftertaste. Just average overall.

Aroma: Light caramel and toasted malts, but very faint. Appearance: Dark red amber with a thick, creamy head. Taste: Medium sweetness, with a light bitterness in the finish. Palate: Medium body with a lively carbonation, crisp texture, and a long, dry finish. Overall: Very nice--I’m not blown away, but a very quaffable and enjoyable beer.

Not much aroma... Flavor was not terribly exciting, not as hoppy as the west coast varieties I’ve had, kind of boring and not memorable, Fat Head’s worst...

Tap @ Fat Head’s. Pours a clear dark copper body with a small off-white head. Lightly grainy and hoppy nose with a touch of fruitiness and caramel. The flavor is a bit thin with toasty malt and a light bitterness. Husky finish. Light bodied and fizzy, it’s also a bit coarse. Overall it’s just the average brewpub Amber offering.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear red pour with a medium off-white head. Dank malty aroma without much else going on. Bready malt flavor with a bit of hop and a musty aftertaste. These guys make some good beers, but this one would be the one to skip. I didn’t finish the sample.

it’s malty, and decent, but there is a back-end astringency that was not hop-related, and was unpleasant to me and a few others I was with.

This is a malt lovers beer....too bad I’m not much of a malt lover. poured a clear reddish/brown. Mild aroma, just some caramel and toast notes. Very malty flavor, toffee, caramel, vanilla with a very faint hop background. I can see some people really liking this and it was extremely well crafted, just not a style I enjoy all that much.
