Pssst. Come a little closer. Weíve got a little something shakiní that may interest you. Is it a Stout or an American Black Ale? Well, well, well, you can never tell. Eyes on the prize, put your nose in the glass. Donít drink too fast. Gotta make it last. Just let it roll across your tongue like a hopped-up velvet thundercloud.

Donít tell me this stout ainít got no hops. You just gotta sniff around. Come on over to the dark side of the street.

13 oz draught at Pint Room, Dublin. Black; foamy tan head that dissipates into a light covering. Good lacing. Aroma roast, coffee, chocolate. Medium-full body, predominantly roasty with coffee. Very good, yet very forgettable; I had multiple Dragonís Milkís after this and they blew this beer away.

Beer pours an opaque black. Very smooth taste with a very balanced hop presence. Coffee and chocolate flavors with a hint of bitterness in the finish.

Bottle. It pours a brown color with a light brown head. The aroma is full with caramel, toffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and chocolate cake. The flavor has some smoke, chocolate cake, caramel and toffee. Strong bitterness and smoky roasted malt in the finish. Hints of burnt marshmallow. Full bodied with high carbonation. Tasty.

12oz bottle from Delocks. Very dark brown pour with a bit of a head. Aroma has sweet caramel, licorice, some light pine, and some ash. Taste is of sweet malts, licorice, light caramel, ash, and some citrus - perhaps grapefruit. Medium to full-bodied with some alcohol presence, the blend is quite good. And the carbonation is solid. Finishes more sweet than bitter but the ash kicks in with a solid presence in the finish. This is very tasty, whatever the style really is. 14.3

12 ounce bottle. A chocolate creamy hoppy stout that feels a bit less than its abv. Very drinkable.

Poured from a bottle. Pours a very dark brown to black with a tan head and plenty of lacing. Aroma of dark chocolate and roasted malt with a hint of citrusy hops. Medium body with some carbonation. Starts as a smooth roasted malt flavor that quickly turns to somewhat bitter and stays on the palate. OK, but not my favorite style. Too much lingering bitterness for my preference.

On draft at Stogies and Stouts 2016. Pours a stout brown with a tan head. Nose is huge piney bitterness, roast, cocoa, and black coffee. Flavor is similar with roast, dark chocolate, huge pine, and black coffee. Medium in body and not my favorite, as I am not a fan of hoppy stouts.

Bottle from Matt McCue. Thanks, bro. Pours black with slight brown hew and some foam that fades. Aroma is grilled stone fruits, smoke, and brown malt. Flavor is similar with black malt and coffee. Finish is a slight coffee bitterness that fades nicely. Nice beer.
