Draft pour at Fat Heads. Pours a clear dark amber with a beige head of foam. Aroma is fruity and sweet with notes of nougat, toffee, and caramel. Sweet throughout. Finishes on the drier side. Medium to full bodied and fairly rich. One of the better of the style Iíve had.

This poured a dark amber to brown color with an off white head. Aroma was of sweet caramel, some fig, light smoke and toasted grain. Flavor was a bit sweeter than expected from the aroma, toasted caramel and light peated notes, and some light dark fruits too.

On tap at Fat Heads. Pours a deep reddish copper color with a medium white head. A sweet caramel nose, with some berries. Smooth easy flavor of fruit, berries, very big malt sweetness, toast, raisin. Good.

Sample at Fat Headís North Olmsted on 1/21/13. Pours clear amber to copper with a thick tan head. Malty and caramelly nose with notes of crisp hops and toffee. Malty and sweet caramel flavor up front, but finishes crisp and semi-dry. Very nicely done.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2014 Tap at the brewpub. Clear amber pour with minimal head. Bready malts all over the place - malt bomb. Pretty sweet as well.

Tap at FH 3Jan2013, probably one of the lesser impressive brews, this doesnt have a rich flavor as described its more of a plain jane doppel with subtle notes of malt and toast and the rest is just beer.

Dogbrick (8149) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 26, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. This brew pours a clear dark reddish-amber color with a medium fluffy off-white head that recedes slowly to a film. Partial rings of lacing. Roasted malt and hops in the nose. Medium-bodied with a roasted malt character and notes of caramel and resiny hops. The finish is sweet with a malt and dark fruit aftertaste. Decent overall.

Aroma: Toasted malts with hints of grass and dry leaves. Appearance: Dark amber with minimal head. Taste: Light sweetness with a medium tart sourness. Palate: Full body, slick texture, average carbonation, long tart finish Overall: Meh...itís a fairly flavorless beer with hints of maltiness at the edges, but fairly generic. Very unimpressed.

Growler: The aroma consists of moderate caramel, toffee, and light apple. It pours a dark copper with a large creamy off-white head with very good retention. The flavor starts with moderate caramel, chocolate, and toffee. The finish has some raisin, faint roast, and a hint of alcohol. Itís medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel.
