COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Szechuan pepper seeds give this Belgian Tripel its unique taste and aroma. Hints of lemon zest are balanced with the complex components of the Belgian yeast. Deceptively strong and smooth.

On tap at the brew pub: Deep golden body with a creamy white head. Spicy, peppery yeast aroma dominates. Some pils malt follows. Lightly fruity esters from the yeast and possibly the pepper seeds. A light plum fruity ester as it warms. Flavor is spicy yeast up front, cereal and pils malt, a touch of alcohol that gets magnified with food, and has a semi dry start with a dry finish. Peppery throughout. Lighter body due to the beer being highly and properly carbonated. Warming alcohol is fairly well hidden in the mouthfeel, but becomes a bit stronger in the flavor with food. Overall a well made beer, I really enjoy this one because of the yeast character..

Sample at Fat Headís North Olmsted on 7/18/13. Clear gold pour with no head. Aroma of banana, clove, malt and caramel. Malty flavor with character of banana syrup, pepper and some clove. A little too far into sweet and banana town for my liking.

This one poured a hazy yellow color with a white head. Aroma was peppercorns, lemon grass,a nd belgina yeast. Flavor was over the top spicey, and untripel like. Just kinda of odd.

(Growler pour) Slightly sweet aroma, with some yeast notes. Pours a clear golden with a full white head. Very nice spice profile to the beer, with the peppercorns just peaking out. The alcohol is well hidden, with just a touch of heat, and there is a lingering bready finish. A nice drinking dangerous tripel.

Tap at FH, A new experience szechuan pepper in a beer, it lends a spicy characteristic to it, while not in an additive way, not in a poor way either, just noteworthy. Other than that the belgian yeast dominates and keeps everything feeling like a belgian.
