10/31/2015: Fat Headís Trail Head Pale Ale (Fresh Hop Version)... Damn good pale ale that seems to drink bigger than it really is; bursting with floral, citrus and pine hops, good level of bitterness, and just enough malty sweetness to keep everything balanced; excellent wet-hopped pale ale! Draught at Dilly in Mariemont, Ohio.

Wet hopped version enjoyed November 5, 2015 on draft in a snifter. Look - Orange gold. See through. Nice finger of ivory head. Medium bubbles. Great lacing. Smell - Mango. Grapefruit. Orange. Dank musty hop. Taste - Nose. Dank mustiness is there but not for long. Finished with bubblegum. Feel - Drier finish than expected. Medium feel slightly creamier than water. Sits well. Burns tongue with hop. Overall - I had regular trail head and it was average. Wet hopped trail head is great. This is a very good rating for a regular IPA.

A hazed golden IPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, sweet fruity biscuit malt with resinous piney hops, nice and smooth, classic California IPA. In mouth, a sweet fruit biscuit malt with citrus, resinous and floral hops, pink grapefruit, nice and balanced. Can from Matt in Ottawa. Merci Matt.

Can to teku, red-amber pour with sizeable head. Nose of sweet malt, citrus juice, a bit of spice and pine, floral notes playing with smooth lemon on top. Flavor has a more pronounced pine, evenly matched with a clean yet sweet malt presence. Citra notes and flowers tag along closely behind. Well-balanced, soft carbonation, clean finish, a true representation of the surreally-cleansing, bright, and sweet trails of the Metroparks.

On tap at brewery in Portland, OR. Pours orange with white head. Nose of pine hops. Medium body. Flavor is a lot of pine and citrus on top of a little tropical fruit. With this kind of bitterness not sure what this not classified as an IPA. Decent beer though.

On draft at Fat Headís in Cleveland. Pours a nice yellow-orange with a white head. Nose is caramel, grapefruit zest, and some orange with a mild malt presence. Flavor is similar with orange, grapefruit, and all manner of citrus. Light in body and an awesome pale ale overall.

On tap at the brewery in Portland, RBSG. Medium gold body. Piney hop profile with grapefruit too, clean pale malts, low sweetness, intensely bitter finish. This is the kind of beer that could easily be an IPA instead of an APA.

On tap @ Fat Heads PDX. Orange pour with white foam. Sweet grape juice and grains. A lot of bready malt and grass. Kind of dusty smelling. Meh. Husky and grassy bitterness to the flavor. A lot of grainy sweetness and esters as well. Just all around not very good.
