Tap at FH 3Jan2013, not as decidedly smooth or thick as I would expect from a milk stout, palate is a tad thin and there is a minimal amount of sweetness for the style, quite tasty indeed.

Sample at the brewpub. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium light beige head that dissipates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Light to medium body with flavors of sweet milk chocolate, malt and a bit of coffee. The finish is creamy and chocolatey with a sweet aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Draught sample at the Cleveland International Beer Fest on 5/14/11. Darkest brown pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of chocolate, roast and a sweet creaminess. Sweet milk sugar flavor with roast and a chocolate finish. Nicely done.

Aroma: Milk sugar and chocolate malt. Appearance: Black with a tan head that dissipates quickly. Taste: Medium sweetness with a light bitter finish. Palate: Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation with a decent finish. Overall: It’s yummy and sweet, and would pair well with any chocolate dessert, but it’s pretty one-dimensional.
