Mild citrus aroma. Watery gold with thin head. Hop sour with mild alcohol notes. Fairly sour and bitter.

This pours straw yellow-- nothing amber about it. Stale biscuity aroma. Semi-sweet, oddly medicinal quality to the palate. What is this trying to be? If this honestly is trying to be an amber ale, here’s a hint: try a little crystal malt maybe! WTF? Just weird really.

Another beer form Trader Joe’s. Slight hop aroma. Clean malt profile with a lager like finish. Decent cheap ale to drink in the summer.

The aroma was estery and fruity with a strong presence of candy and caramel. Lightly spicy and grassy with a bit of a citrus note to boot. In the glass the beer was golden (nothing amber about it) with a white and low, yet persistent and tight bubbled head which lasted well to lace the glass. The flavor was nice with a light caramel sweetness and a decent level of citrusy and grassy bittering to keep the malt in check. The balance was very good and made for a nice flavor combination. The finish was dry with lasting impressions of fruit and hops into the aftertaste and beyond. The body was medium with a moderate level of carbonation and a creamy texture. A nice, somewhat fruity, ale with enough to keep me interested. At TJ pricing this one might have to see the fridge more often. 12 ounce bottle. The picture is correct, but the beer says it was made by Steinhaus Brewing Co in New Ulm, MN.

12oz bottle. Aroma zesty, sour, spices and wheat. Gold body with white head. Flavor has zesty sour lemon bitterness and some spices noticable. Leaves a sour spicey aftertaste on the palate. This would be better suited witha pizza rather than sampling it alone with out something to eat.

Bottle. Pours a pale orange color, not of an amber but more of a pale ale. Slightly hoppy but not overly so. Finish has a hint of sweetness.

First run in with a trader joe’s beer. It was an ok, not great, first encounter. The lack of any hops was a little disappointing. It still had a thick, full bodied, malty consistency though. Reminded me in terms of consistency and mouthfeel to a belgian strong golden. Lacked those spices and citrusy notes though.
