American Brown Style Ale. Hoppy aroma balanced with medium malt flavor and a resiny impression.

Good brown beer, maplewood color, clear-ish. Medium head, lots o lacin. Really hoppy aroma for the style, lots of different hop smells, the malt is overpowered unfortunately. Taste is a little more balanced, but the pungent fresh hop oil taste still masks the cereal and malt I was hoping for. Long aftertaste.

Draft at brewery, ok yea this is whatís up, an intensely hoppy brown ale without any sweetness, good roasty and malt flavors, itís very very nice. Home run imo

Clear copper with a short off-white head. Medium body, peppery and spicy and bitter with an enjoyable crusty malt / cookie dough quality, but itís consumed by raw / grassy American hops. Not a huge deal, itís still flavorful and balanced, just seems that the malt has more to say but itís buried by the strong American hoppiness. Nutty in the way of toasty nut oils, lightly sweet, toffee-ish with faint red apple esters. Good mineral quality and the authentic toastiness speaks to fresh baked bread. Itís a mid three for me that could be a high three if not for the grassy dry hop aroma and just-excessive bitterness. Still, kudos to them for making an expressively malty Brown Ale.

On draft at The Perch Pub & Brewery in Chandler, AZ. Brown / amber body with a quarter inch of tan head. Hop and pine aromas with a malty undertone. Drinks more like an IPA than a traditional brown. Medium bitterness. Tasty, regardless of style classification. I would have this again.

Pours a brown color with tan head. Aroma and flavors of malt, caramel, pine, and resin. This is a brown ale that is taking hops as steroids.

Arrives from the tap with a light tan colored head that sits on top of a red-brown colored beer that shows a brilliantly clear, lighter version of the same when held up to the light. The aroma smells of citrus zest and light caramelized malt notes, as well as a slightly nutty malt note. The fruit character has more of a rounded, peach like character once I dig into it a bit more.

Citrus zest and rounded peach / guava flavors up front yield to a touch of toasted, perhaps roasted malt in the finish as well as a solid hop bitterness that adds a touch of bite to the end of the sip. The bitterness is actually noticed from beginning to end, and melds with a bit of a carbonic bite as well. The hop character is definitely the dominant note here in the flavor, but there is definitely some malt character that is here to play as well with flavors of caramelized browned grains, nicely toasted whole grain bread, and a bit of nutty grain character. The body definitely makes for a quaffable brew, and the body has a bit of viscosity to it that adds a light texture to this brew.

A really nice example of a hoppy American Brown Ale, I was trying to have a non-hop beer in between two hoppy Pale Ales though; drat, definitely foiled, but this is an enjoyable beer, so I really canít complain much, but I really do like a brown with a bit more rich maltiness to it.

Caramel colored pour with a small eggshell crown. Gooey toffee, candied fruit, toasted oats, roasted nuts, sweet malts, and a hint of citrus and evergreen. Darn good for the style but not a huge fan of said style. Highly drinkable. Not bad.

Brown pour with tan head. Aroma is hoppy with mild fruit. Flavor has some malt but plenty of hops.

On tap: The aroma consists of light caramel, citrus, and roast. Itís a transparent amber with a small off-white head that fades to a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit with some faint roasted nuts. Itís light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, a hoppier version of an American Brown Ale.

On tap at Fate. It pours with a clear copper body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up citrus running into earthy malts and a dash of malt roastiness. The taste delivers up pale ale hoppy like tart citrus bitterness mixing with a modest degree of malt roastiness around the edges. This seems like a good hot weather selection as it is pretty refreshing and seems like a Pale Ale / Brown Ale hybrid. Nice brew albeit outside of the style some.
