COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Americanized version of a Foreign Extra Stout. It has a strong coffee-like roasted barley flavor and prominent roasted malt aroma. The American citrus hops lead to a brightness on the palate with a moderately dry finish. This rich stout pairs well with hearty fare like steak, BBQ and chocolate desserts.

Pour on tap at the brewery, dark brownish black pour with tan head, aroma brought notes of big dark fruit, roast, sweet chocolate into a bit of caramel, some slight ashy notes as well. Taste was a mix of ash, dark fruit, chocolate, coffee into some roast, sweet fruits, caramel in there, finishing slightly roasted.

Draft. Pours a medium, well retained, beige head, over a clear black (SRM 40) body....nose is cocoa, chocolatte, coffee, from the roasted malts, light herbal tones, slight citrus from the hops, no esters, balance to the malts.....taste, is coffee. chocolate, cocoa, slight citrus notes, with a moderate, hop roasted malt bittern finish, balance to the malts.....mouth feel, medium to heavy body, minimal alcohol, slight creaminess. The roasted malts, are just balanced by the bitterness of the roasted malts and the hops. The hop backbone is a bit light on complexity in both aroma and flavor, and could be a little more obviously "American". BJCP 8/3/15/4/7
