COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed to commemorate our 1000th batch of beer, this English style amber has been aged with medium toasted oak. It has a slightly sweet malt flavor & a dry smoky finish.

Malty with a hint of nuts. Low carbonation made it quite smooth and easy-drinking. A bit different and an enjoyable beer.

Draught at the brewpub. Murky amber-red color with a light beige head. Lots of toasted wood and sunflower seeds in the aroma. Just very dry and toasty on the nose overall. The flavor has a light caramel malt sweetness that very quickly gives way to lots of toasty wood and a very dry and tannic woody finish. Light bodied and a touch astringent in the mouthfeel. The oak aging just completely overwhelms this. I’m not sure I could finish a pint. I appreciate that they were going for something a little different for batch 1000, but maybe cutting the oak by half would have done it.
