COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is the Belgian version of a German Hefe Weizen. The malt used to brew the beer is made up of barley, wheat and oats. The oats add to the softer flavor and to the opaque hue the beer exhibits. This is the origin of the name White (Wit in Flemish or Biere Blanche in French.) Like the Hefe Weizen, the beer is an ale and is spicy (phenolic) and fruity (estery.) Belgian White is not as spicy and the fruity flavor has more citrus and less banana flavors. White beer is a traditional Belgian farmers beer. It was in danger of becoming extinct in the 60ís before it was revived and is now brewed by as many as 10 different breweries in Belgium. Faultline Brewing Company serves the Belgian White from late Spring through early Summer.

Tap. Pours hazy yellow with a thin white head that dissipates with no lacing. Aroma is of yeast, orange, coriander, banana. Flavor is yeasty and wheaty, with banana notes and a lemon finish. Nice overall.

Draft. An unclear golden beer with a white head. The aroma has notes of malt and wheat. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and wheat as well as a touch of spices.

Sample at the brewpub on 8/10/10. Pours clearish yellow with a thin white head. Orange aroma with coriander and some banana, but the banana doesnít dominate. Flavor also starts with orange and has a bit of tartness before some banana steps in, leading to a dry herbal finish. Very nice for a style thatís very hit or miss for me.

A little sweeter aroma than your average wit. Also perhaps Iíve beenhaving more hefes but this one seems a touch more opaque than normal. The flavor is nice a kittle more bitter than usual which balanced it out.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours cloudy yellow with a thin white head and a floral aroma. There is a thin wheat flavor that is refreshing but almost tasteless, with a litttle banana ester.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy yellow with a white head. Touch of corn, perfumey coriander, and light cinnamon in the aroma. The flavor is perfumey and floral with plenty of coriander showing. Peppery spice and orange hang in the background. Medium sweet. Light bodied with higher carbonation. Too much coriander and just a little too big and sweet to be a refreshing wit.

On tap. Hazy yellow with a creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Very perfumy coriander nose. Light body, soft mouthfeel, coriander, citrus and a late note of yeast. 250709

From tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma is vague coriander and wheaty. Mild spiced and estery fruity flavoured. Mild acidic and spiced flavoured finish with a light phenolic touch.

Had this on tap at the brewery served with an orange slice. Hazy yellow body with a crisp white head. Nice lacing as I drank this. Citrusy taste that does not over power the complex taste of malt and hops. I really enjoyed sipping on this one out on the patio. I would have this one again
