Dark brown pour with a thin head. Aroma is caramel and light wood. Lightly sweet; could use more bitter.

Aged 2 years (2011 vintage): It’s crazy how great this is at 2 years old... This black alt has a medium brown head and is nutty and very complex, much more so than fresh. It has a sweet, but not roasted character, making for an overall full-flavored and tasty, smooth, well-rounded and balanced alt that’s wickedly respectable. So nice! A hint of roasted grains comes out in the finish, but its so faint that it only adds to the complexity.
