Can, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours orangy gold, well carbonated body. Head is rather white and foamy, medium but quickly decreasing to small. Quite bright for a Malt Liquor in its body colour.
Aroma: Front is sweet with hints of sweet wine grapes, toffee, apple and strong alcohol, quite fresh at start, but heavy later on as beer quickly decarbonates, alcohol is felt stronger&stronger later on just before drinking.
Flavour: Flavour is surprisingly not that dominated by alcohol as I expected, but still it is felt almost as heavy. On the other hand there is a quite strong hoppy nose&bitterness on the tongue refreshing chalky aftertaste, some apple accents and winegrapes quite ripe. I wouldn’t say that this beer has 10% of alc. if I didn’t know, really it is well hidden despite some different opinions. It really surprises me. Finish duration is medium.
Palate: Body is full, texture is syrupy and a bit sticky, but beer is not sweet and dull thanks to nice strong hoppy accent, carbonation on palate is medium, finish feel is chalky with kind of floral hoppy nose, medium alcoholic.
yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Jul 25, 2008 1 L can. Pours clear and golden orange with a crispy light yellowish head. Solid spiced corn and alcohol aroma. Flavour is sweet cornish and fruity. Holds a solid alcohol smoothness at first which quickly goes into a solid warming to even burning feel. Ends quite alcohol dense.
