a little bit of that overly burned and metallic faxe taste, but this is 10% and really cheap and was surprisingly easy to get down with even a degree of pleasantness

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2009 1L can... coppery brown with a lacey off-white head. Metallic malt aroma. Caramel, walnut, malty flavor leading into a woody note. Alcohol note at the end, which gets stronger and overpowers as the drink is consumed. Medium-light body.

Monster can. Golden, mid-sized, slowly diminishing white head. Sweetish-grainy, a bit corny and almondy, too, aroma. Moderate sweet-bitter flavour, astonishingly only medium bodied. Corny-bitter finish with a warming influence. Not too bad..........

UPDATED: JUN 21, 2009 500mL can from the LCBO, for a camping trip. Well, what can you say really about something like this. It is what it is, and it serves it’s purpose. There’s moments where it teases you with a scent and flavour vaguely reminiscint of actual malts, but then of course the horrible corn and fuel alcohol flavours kick in. To say there’s hop notes in here would mean that you’ve had a few too many already. Good around a camp fire though.

Typical Faxe big can (1000ml). -as Faxe Extra Strong 10% on gas station near Frankfurt.
The taste is just like I’ve expected, sweet malty, faint hoppy and strong alcoholic with metallic notes. Also sharp alcoholic finish. One-dimensional, but what to expect from Faxe.

Incredible 1L can, Dark blond to light amber coloured beer with average carbonation and a small white head. Strong malted alcoholic aroma. Full creamy palate. Finish is wharming alcoholic strong, light roasted and malty touched with a longer light bitter finish. Stonrg but not that bad.

Clear goldblond coloured beer, small white head, few carbonation. Hoppy aroma. Full palate. Finish is bitter and little dry. Cleary notice the alcohol in it.

Can, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours orangy gold, well carbonated body. Head is rather white and foamy, medium but quickly decreasing to small. Quite bright for a Malt Liquor in its body colour.
Aroma: Front is sweet with hints of sweet wine grapes, toffee, apple and strong alcohol, quite fresh at start, but heavy later on as beer quickly decarbonates, alcohol is felt stronger&stronger later on just before drinking.
Flavour: Flavour is surprisingly not that dominated by alcohol as I expected, but still it is felt almost as heavy. On the other hand there is a quite strong hoppy nose&bitterness on the tongue refreshing chalky aftertaste, some apple accents and winegrapes quite ripe. I wouldn’t say that this beer has 10% of alc. if I didn’t know, really it is well hidden despite some different opinions. It really surprises me. Finish duration is medium.
Palate: Body is full, texture is syrupy and a bit sticky, but beer is not sweet and dull thanks to nice strong hoppy accent, carbonation on palate is medium, finish feel is chalky with kind of floral hoppy nose, medium alcoholic.
