2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 wanderingman (54) - Guelph, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 28, 2006
This is such a contrasting beer. Pours dark black with red edges. Has a sweet aroma from the malts, but the taste is all bitter hops. This beer needs to be drank cold as its gets more bitter as it warms. By the end of the glass I just wanted it to be over. The bitterness lingered way too long.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Slacks (615) - Bolton, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 27, 2006
500ml Can: Pours deep black with red edges to it, with an initially large head that reduces to a scum-like layer. A sweet, malty aroma, albeit somewhat faint until I shook my glass like a British nanny. Taste is hard, bitter, with a strong pepper tone to it. Sweet aftertaste, almost apple. Doesn’t make up for a flavour that’s just too harsh for my palate. Drink this one ice-cold or you’ll regret it.
2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 yarry (451) - Waterdown, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 11, 2006
500 ml can, 7.7% a/v
I beleive this is my first bock! Lets see how i like it! Pours an intensely dark rub red, with a fine light brown head. Faint smell of roasted malt. Tastes slightly fruity when it first hits the toungue then goes on to have a slightly spicy taste. Pretty good beer, but maltier then I expected. My favorite faxe beer so far!

Can. Weak, sweet roasted aroma. Very dark brown colour with a red hue. Small head. Roasted, peppery flavour. Well-balanced. Malty, peppery aftertaste. A good Doppelbock.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 DuffMan (4242) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 21, 2006
Deep red-brown, moderate tan head, decent lace. Aromas of butterscotch with an earthy element. Generous caramel malt flavour, slightly nutty, earthy. Full-bodied but not cloying or harsh. A decent bock indeed!
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 6/20 JRHBrew (264) - Fredericton, New Brunswick, CANADA - FEB 5, 2006
Pour body for the style. Not a complex taste, no balance. I expected it to be the best of the 3 Faxe beers available to me. It was the worst.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 madsberg (7300) - Søborg, DENMARK - JAN 29, 2006
Canned: Dark red/brown coloured. Biege head. Sweet and malty aroma with notes of liqourice and ccaramel. Flavour is sweet, breddish, alcoholdense and has some caramel notes. Is quite smooth and sweet in the end. Has loads of alcoholwarmth and gets a little sticky.
