3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 cfrancis (1223) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 1, 2009
I really enjoyed this beer. Caramel taste with a fuller palate was very enjoyable.

Can. Dark brown body with a light brown medium head. Malty aroma with light tobacco notes. Soft palate. Sweet malty bit alcoholic taste but with some tobacco and smoke notes. I was surprised by this one.
2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20 trapez (1295) - Hilleroed, DENMARK - DEC 4, 2008
Can.
Weak malty aroma. Clear dark brown colour with small beige head. Some roasted malt and alcohol in flavour. Drinkable, but not exciting.
2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 heavy (1466) - Split, CROATIA - NOV 27, 2008
03/11 0.5 l can courtesy of ogivlado, thanks for sharing! New style for me. Poured reddish brown body with medium sized beige head. Coffee, some roasted sugar and notes of alcohol in its aroma. Fake. Sweet industrial malty flavor, with first sip or two being really nasty. Bittersour coffee hiding the alcohol partially, but not enough and not pleasant. Sweetish finish help the beer to be drinkable and at some point after drinking even enjoyable. But, it’s crap anyway.

Canned(500ml). -trade with faroeviking (thanks Jacob).
Reddish/brown coloured, medium sized off-white head, alcoholic nose. Sweet malty, alcohol and coffee taste but surprisingly unoffensive for Faxe. Drinkable.

Can ogivlado got in a trade with faroeviking (thanks!), shared with him and heavy. Cola like colour... dark red-brown. Medium to small off white head that went away rather fast. The initial impression isn’t all that nice. Alcohol, caramel malt, roastiness in the nose, but not in a good way. Somewhat weak taste, a touch acidic coffee, alcohol, no hop... got a bit better later on... softer, drinkable, but still not enough to consider it a great beer I’m afraid. I wrote at first ’crappy dunkel with pumped up alcohol’, and it’s not far of but as I said, in the end it wasn’t that bad and I might be underrating it a bit.

500mL can from the LCBO. Meh, this could be worse. It’s not all the great mind you. Lousy non-existent aroma. Some decent roasty malt flavour, too bad it’s surrounded by crap. Not much to it. Bad tinny finish with some alcohol and a touch of sourness. Almost okay colour of dark amber with a tan head. I’ve been in a bock mood lately, and sadly this is the only new thing the LCBO could offer me. Lame. From this brewery I was expecting worse though. I could see this being a decent party beer that would impress the morons drinking Lakeport.

Canned sample. Dark red in colour with medium carbonation. Aroma of malt, alcohol, grapenuts cereal, and cooked sugar. Strong malt flavors dominate, with more booze, grape koolaid, black pepper spices, and more cooked/burnt sugar elements. Not as heavy in the body as you’d expect from such a malt forward beer. A bit EKU 28-like. Not a fan though.
